The Gospel Blesses Families

In a recent meeting I attended, an inspired missionary began his discussion by asking everyone in the group what matters most to them. We all pondered and took turns expressing our feelings. The response seemed to be unanimous, in which everyone of us said that one thing that we hold most dear to us is our families. I would pose that same question to you. . . "What matters most to you?" I'm sure that amongst the many blessings that came to mind, family was included.

Why are families so important to us? Families are our immediate support group throughout our trial-filled life in this cruel world. God has established families to bring happiness to His children and to allow them to learn correct principles in a loving atmosphere. In the large scheme of things, God established families to prepare His children, us, for eternal life. Because families are ordained of God, they are the most important social unit in time and in eternity.

I am so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ - for it has blessed my family beyond measure. Thanks to loving parents who raised my family through teaching basic gospel truths, my family has developed a special bond and love that could have been developed by no other way. This was done by consistent family prayer, scripture study, and other teachings from the Savior. It has provided my home to be a place of peace, joy, happiness, refuge, and safety. The home is the best place to teach, learn, and apply principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
My Wonderful, Loving Family - June 2009

The restored gospel blesses and helps husbands and wives, parents and children as they strive to develop stronger relationships and spiritual strength in their families. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides help with current concerns and challenges. When Jesus Christ is at the center of our homes and families, relationships will strengthen, Heavenly Father will bless us with a greater desire to serve others, and love will be present.
